With extensive expertise in child protection, family support, and program development, Dr. Gerardo is well-equipped to lead our international portfolio with a clear focus on creating lasting, positive impacts for children and families throughout Latin America.

We are excited to announce Dr. Gerardo’s appointment as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of  at Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos International  (NPHI). With extensive expertise in child protection, family support, and program development, Dr. Gerardo is well-equipped to lead our international portfolio with a clear focus on creating lasting, positive impacts for children and families throughout Latin America.

In his role, Dr. Gerardo will oversee NPH’s network of programs and services, ensuring their effectiveness while driving strategic innovation to strengthen and sustain essential initiatives. His responsibilities include guiding technical teams across our network, fostering professional development among leadership staff, and coordinating impactful partnerships with NGOs and government agencies.

Originally from Costa Rica and now residing in Guatemala, Dr. Gerardo is deeply committed to child advocacy. His career has been dedicated to developing transformative programs, including award-winning family reintegration initiatives and child protection centers recognized as models of sustainability. With a Doctorate in Divinity, an MBA, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Dr. Gerardo combines technical expertise with an empathetic approach, reinforcing NPH’s mission to provide comprehensive care and stability for vulnerable children and families.

Reflecting on his journey with NPH, Dr. Gerardo shares, “I am inspired by NPH’s strong values and dedication to the well-being of children and families. I am committed to ensuring our programs prioritize the best interests of our Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos through intentional and guided care.”
