It is with deep sadness that we announce that Frank Krafft passed away today at 8:30 am local time.
It is with deep gratitude and affection that we reflect on the life of Frank Krafft, a devoted friend of the NPH family whose generosity and vision helped transform the lives of thousands of children across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Frank’s connection to our mission began in 1968, when he and his beloved wife Polly visited the home founded by Father William Wasson in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Meeting the children and witnessing the spirit of family that defined the home left a profound impression on them. In that moment, Frank and Polly recognized that they had encountered something extraordinary, and they committed themselves wholeheartedly to supporting it.
What followed was a lifetime of dedication.
Together, Frank and Polly helped establish Our Little Brothers and Sisters in 1969, creating a way for friends and supporters to join the mission of caring for vulnerable children. Through their leadership and their ability to bring people together, they helped build a community of generosity that allowed NPH to grow far beyond its beginnings in Mexico.
Frank also played an important role in helping open offices in Europe, extending the reach of the NPH family across the Atlantic. Because of that vision, our community of supporters and colleagues now stretches from the Americas all the way to Europe. What began as a small family around Father Wasson’s home in Cuernavaca grew into a global family of people committed to the same mission.
Frank was a man of quiet conviction. Those who worked with him remember his humility, his kindness, and his deep belief that every child deserves dignity, opportunity, and love. He was not only a generous supporter of NPH, but also a mentor, a friend, and someone who helped many of us understand what true service looks like.
Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife Polly, with whom he shared more than five decades of marriage, family life, and service to children in need. Together they raised nine children and built a remarkable family rooted in generosity and faith.

Today that spirit continues through his children. Steve Krafft has taken on the leadership that Frank carried for so many years, continuing the family’s deep commitment to the mission of NPH. Just as with his other children, Frank leaves behind a legacy of generosity that will continue to shape the future of this work.
On behalf of the hundreds of pequeños and Hermanos Mayores whose lives have been touched by Frank’s generosity, we extend our deepest gratitude to the Krafft family for everything they have done for the NPH family. Their love, commitment, and example have helped build something far greater than any one person or generation.
The funeral will be held on Friday, March 27th.
Frank’s legacy lives on in every child who finds hope, protection, and opportunity within our homes.
