Emerson is a cheerful individual whose creativity shines through in his aspirations to become an architect. His journey with NPH Honduras has significantly contributed to his personal growth and intelligence.
A New Beginning
Emerson and his siblings had the opportunity to reintegrate with their aunt in the community of Matarras, Arizona, Atlántida, located about 334 km from Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. This transition was made possible through NPH’s OneFamily program, which aims to support pequeños in returning to their biological families. The primary focus is on the well-being of Emerson and his siblings, ensuring they experience love, support, and care.
Academic Aspirations
Emerson’s eagerness to enhance his academic abilities is evident in his school performance. Despite starting off track, his dedication to becoming a scholar has not gone unnoticed and serves as an inspiration to others. His passion for drawing is reflected in the numerous notebooks filled with art, particularly portraits and landscapes. He aspires to learn new techniques, including anime and pixel art. Recognizing that his artistic talents will aid him in architecture, he is committed to this path.
In school, Emerson enjoys subjects like mathematics and physics. He collaborates with a group of nine peers who help him grasp these concepts better. To concentrate on his homework, he often retreats to the mountains for solitude.
Life Beyond Academics
On weekends, Emerson enjoys fishing in the nearby river and playing soccer with friends. His mornings are dedicated to collecting firewood and drawing before donning his school uniform. He delights in sharing meals with his family, particularly enjoying pizza, baleadas, and chicken. Looking ahead, he dreams of traveling.
Family Dynamics
Emerson comes from a large family with approximately eight siblings; however, he feels that none share the commitment or interest in supporting him. He expresses a strong sentiment: “My family is NPH and you (the technical team that advises, guides, and is always there for me).”
A Clear Vision for the Future
At a young age, Emerson demonstrates clarity in his aspirations for himself and his family. In 2006, he and two of his siblings were placed into a support family before being reintegrated with their aunt in 2017. He appreciates the support from OneFamily and feels empowered by his biological family’s presence. Emerson believes that NPH guides him toward leading an independent life while striving for self-improvement for the benefit of his family.
Currently living with his aunt, Emerson is focused on finishing high school and advancing his studies in architecture at a higher level. He is grateful for the generosity of his aunt, godparents, and the NPH family. As a transformed individual, he cherishes the value of family and looks forward to a bright future ahead.
