NPH International is proud to publish its 2025 Annual Report, Responsibility at the Center, reflecting a year marked by resilience, transformation, and an unwavering commitment to vulnerable children and families across Latin America and the Caribbean.

At a time when many communities continue to face poverty, instability, displacement, violence, and economic uncertainty, the report highlights how NPH programs continue working to protect children’s rights, strengthen families, and create opportunities for long-term development and dignity.

Across Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Peru, NPH continued advancing its transition toward more family and community-centered models of care, while strengthening safeguarding, education, healthcare, psychosocial support, disability inclusion, and youth empowerment programs.

Rooted in Children’s Rights

Guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), the report demonstrates how NPH works to restore and protect rights connected to family care, education, health, protection, inclusion, and independent living.

The report showcases the impact of NPH’s five strategic initiatives:

  • Family and Community Strengthening
  • Education and Development
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Disability and Inclusion
  • Youth and Economic Empowerment

These initiatives continue shaping NPH’s regional strategy and response to the evolving needs of children, adolescents, and families.

Haiti: Resilience in the Face of Crisis

One of the strongest reflections in the report comes from Haiti, where children, families, caregivers, and medical staff continued facing some of the most difficult conditions in the region.

Despite insecurity and displacement, NPH Haiti maintained continuity of care and protection for children and vulnerable families. Programmes de Vie successfully relocated children into safer environments while preserving education, psychosocial support, and family stability.

At the same time, the Special Needs Programs continued operating despite major disruptions, adapting facilities and restoring services for children and adults with disabilities.

At St. Damien Pediatric Hospital in Port-au-Prince, healthcare workers continued providing lifesaving treatment amid ongoing instability. In 2025 alone, the hospital delivered more than 46,000 services and treatments to children and families across Haiti.

The report also shares the story of Samuel, a premature newborn whose life was saved through the hospital’s neonatal care unit, reflecting the dedication and courage of the staff who continue serving Haiti’s most vulnerable children every day.

Impact Across the Region

In 2025, NPH directly supported 5,941 beneficiaries across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Additional highlights from the report include:

  • 4,506 children and young people supported through community-based programs.
  • 10,150 therapy treatments delivered, including physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.
  • 5,896 physician and nursing consultations provided.
  • 1,850 children and young adults accessing educational services.
  • 1,008 direct beneficiaries living with disabilities receiving support and specialized care.

The report also highlights the strengthening of safeguarding systems across NPH, expanded family strengthening initiatives, youth leadership and empowerment programs, educational development, vocational training, and community-based prevention work.

A Collective Effort

The report reflects the collective work of National Directors, Service Directors, Communication Officers, Family Wellbeing teams, caregivers, teachers, psychologists, healthcare professionals, social workers, volunteers, and support staff across the NPH family.
Behind every statistic and every story are people working daily to provide children and families with protection, opportunity, dignity, and hope.

Looking Forward

As NPH continues strengthening family-centered care, safeguarding systems, community development, and long-term sustainability, the 2025 Annual Report reflects not only the challenges facing the region, but also the resilience, solidarity, and responsibility that continue defining the NPH family.
Spanish and French translations will be published in the coming weeks.
