Position Description:
The Holy Family Surgery Center is an ambulatory surgical center run by the nonprofit One World Surgery (www.oneworldsurgery.org) and located on the grounds of NPH Honduras. The Research Assistant is responsible for responsible for the management and implementation of the Surgery Center’s outcomes research project, first implemented in January of 2017. The goal of the project is to evaluate key indicators that measure surgical quality, patient satisfaction and the long-term outcomes of the surgeries performed at the center. Main responsibilities will include overseeing and participating in data collection, entry, and analysis.
Position Requirements:
- Qualified candidates will have a university degree or prior experience in any health-related or administrative field (biology, chemistry, public health, public administration, statistics, etc.)
- Successful volunteers at NPH have strong leadership skills, are resilient and flexible, and work well in teams.
Language Requirements:
Strong Spanish language skills are critical for success as a volunteer with NPH. NPH tests Spanish language skills of candidates invited for an interview. Applicants who do not have an adequate level of Spanish will be required to attend immersion school prior to beginning service with NPH at their own expense.
Age Requirements:
NPH accepts volunteers at least 21 years of age or older.
