Position Overview:
The Montessori Trainer supports the NPH Educational area. He/she contributes to providing support as a counselor for our teachers and helping children develop their full potential. Among his/her tasks the Montessori Trainer is in charge of preparing the environment in which the child plays. Create a nutritious space, with stimulation and that encourages creativity, but also provides security, order and acceptance of rules. The Montessori Trainer can give examples or suggestions to children, but it should not force them to change the game or the way of using different materials. Develop children’s skills through techniques of discovery, collaboration, concentration, imagination and communication, among others. Develop lesson plans, independent learning exercises, study plans and methods that adapt to the needs of each child. Make sure classroom supplies and equipment are available and in working condition. Update records in the school database and perform other administrative tasks.

Position Requirements:
- Qualified candidates must have a university degree degree in early childhood education, education, or a related discipline is recommended.
- Qualified candidates must have pedagogical experience working with children and youth such as teaching, transmitting learning and management of different teams.
- Successful volunteers at NPH have strong leadership skills, are resilient and flexible, and work well in teams.
Language Requirements:
Intermediate Spanish language skills are critical for success as a volunteer in this position with NPH. NPH tests Spanish language skills of candidates invited for an interview. Applicants who do not have an adequate level of Spanish will be required to attend immersion school prior to beginning service with NPH at their own expense.
Age Requirements:
NPH accepts volunteers at least 21 years of age or older.
