Position Description:
NPH runs two different groups for girls, boys, and adolescents, with the objective of promoting gender equality and leadership in our beneficiaries. Chicas Poderosas is our group for girls and young women, in which the focus is on female empowerment and women’s rights. Hombres de Honor is our group for boys and young men, in which we teach the participants about healthy masculinity and gender equality. NPH is looking for volunteers to assist activities and lead these groups. The group assistant is responsible for planning group lessons and activities, leading the group meetings, and supporting the group participants in their learning. In some countries we also offer these groups to young people who live in communities near NPH.
Position Requirements:
- Qualified candidates have professional or academic experience in social work, youth development, psychology, gender studies, or related fields.
- Strong candidates for this position will have prior experience teaching or leading youth groups.
- Successful volunteers at NPH have strong leadership skills, are resilient and flexible, and work well in teams.
Language Requirements:
Strong Spanish language skills are critical for success as a volunteer with NPH. NPH tests Spanish language skills of candidates invited for an interview. Applicants who do not have an adequate level of Spanish will be required to attend immersion school prior to beginning service with NPH at their own expense.
Age Requirements:
NPH accepts volunteers at least 21 years of age or older.
