Position Overview:
Volunteer catechists support the spiritual development programs at NPH. Catechists are responsible for assisting in the spiritual and religious education of the NPH beneficiaries. They are responsible for assisting in delivering educational classes or workshops, helping the children prepare to receive their sacraments, organizing spiritual retreats, and assisting in spiritual development activities for employees. In some countries of service the volunteer catechist will work alongside a team of employees, whereas in other countries he or she may be the only catechist.

Position Requirements:
- Qualified candidates will have a university degree or prior experience in any field related to religion, theology, and/or education.
- Successful volunteers at NPH have strong leadership skills, are resilient and flexible, and work well in teams.
Language Requirements:
Intermediate Spanish language skills are critical for success as a volunteer in this position with NPH. NPH tests Spanish language skills of candidates invited for an interview. Applicants who do not have an adequate level of Spanish will be required to attend immersion school prior to beginning service with NPH at their own expense.
Age Requirements:
NPH accepts volunteers at least 21 years of age or older.
