My name is Romeo* and I am 19 years old. I enjoy playing soccer, being surrounded by nature, and I dream of becoming a forensic doctor when I go to university.

I remember that when I started having conversations with Yang Luis, the psychologist from Buen Pastor, I didn’t feel very comfortable at first, but things improved as our meetings became more frequent. I started to feel more trust with the psychologist Yang, as I affectionately call him.

The psychologist helps me when I’m feeling sad or facing problems that I feel I can’t handle on my own. I reach out to him and ask him if we can talk, and he’s always available.

I feel heard, which has allowed me to face difficult moments in life. Now I can think through my decisions better, manage my emotions and thoughts. I’ve told my peers at the home that if they can, they should talk to the psychologist. I also help them because they ask me for advice.

Sessions with Dr. Yang have made me feel heard. I no longer suppress my emotions, I am more cheerful and happy, and a bit more confident in myself. Every day I feel more motivated.

I feel great affection for the NPH family because if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have these opportunities and wouldn’t be preparing to achieve one of my dreams. Many thanks to those who support this cause.
