Mi nombre es Pierre Peterson<\/strong>\u00a0y nac\u00ed en Cit\u00e9 Soleil, en un peque\u00f1o barrio llamado Ti Ha\u00efti<\/em>, el 15 de abril de 1998.<\/p>\n

Cuando ten\u00eda apenas un a\u00f1o, fui acogido por NPH Hait\u00ed. Desde los 1 hasta los 15 a\u00f1os crec\u00ed en Sainte-H\u00e9l\u00e8ne, Kenscoff, un lugar que hoy tristemente es una zona de conflicto. Pero para m\u00ed siempre ser\u00e1 el hogar donde aprend\u00ed a leer y escribir, donde me sent\u00ed protegido y amado. All\u00ed compart\u00ed momentos inolvidables con mis hermanos y hermanas de NPH.<\/p>\n

Al salir de Sainte-H\u00e9l\u00e8ne regres\u00e9 a Cit\u00e9 Soleil, donde la vida era muy diferente. La pobreza y la inseguridad eran constantes. Sin embargo, NPH sigui\u00f3 acompa\u00f1\u00e1ndome a trav\u00e9s del programa Vie Don Bosco<\/em>. Gracias a NPH, pude continuar mis estudios, algo que pocos en mi familia lograron. Soy el duod\u00e9cimo hijo de mi padre entre diecis\u00e9is y el segundo de mi madre entre siete. Sin NPH, nunca habr\u00eda tenido la oportunidad de estudiar, so\u00f1ar ni construir un futuro.<\/p>\n

Hoy trabajo como Responsable de Proyecto<\/strong>\u00a0en el Programa de Necesidades Especiales de NPH Hait\u00ed, apoyando a ni\u00f1os y j\u00f3venes con discapacidad. Cada d\u00eda compruebo c\u00f3mo el amor y el cuidado que una vez recibimos siguen transformando vidas.<\/p>\n

Una de las personas que m\u00e1s me ha inspirado es Gena Heraty<\/strong>. Ella ha dedicado su vida a servir a los m\u00e1s vulnerables en Hait\u00ed, ofreciendo su fuerza, bondad y compasi\u00f3n a todos los que la rodean. La conoc\u00ed gracias a un gesto de confianza: me pidi\u00f3 cuidar unos pollitos hu\u00e9rfanos. M\u00e1s tarde, me invit\u00f3 a ayudarla en el gallinero de Kay Christine. De ella aprend\u00ed el valor de la responsabilidad, la empat\u00eda y el servicio. Gena representa el esp\u00edritu de NPH: el amor incondicional, la humildad y la entrega hacia los dem\u00e1s.<\/p>\n

Hait\u00ed atraviesa momentos dif\u00edciles. La violencia, la pobreza y la inestabilidad afectan a millones de personas. Aun as\u00ed, creo en el poder del amor, la unidad y la educaci\u00f3n para sanar nuestro pa\u00eds. NPH sigue siendo esencial en esta misi\u00f3n. Sin NPH, muchos j\u00f3venes como yo se habr\u00edan perdido en la desesperanza o la violencia.<\/p>\n

A nuestros amigos, donantes y aliados en Europa y Estados Unidos: les pedimos que sigan a nuestro lado. Su solidaridad nos da fuerza y esperanza. Juntos podemos reconstruir lo que se ha roto y devolver la fe en el futuro.<\/p>\n

Sue\u00f1o con que mi hija crezca en paz, con acceso a la educaci\u00f3n y rodeada de amor, tal como yo lo tuve. Mi deseo para Hait\u00ed es la reconciliaci\u00f3n y el renacer. Y para Gena, que siga inspirando con su compasi\u00f3n y liderazgo a las generaciones venideras.<\/p>\n
